Metacognition is the ability to “think about one’s thinking.” The ability to teach our students the power of reflection allows them to manage any setbacks and remain engaged in their learning. Such practice also enables them to be more responsible for their choices. It lends itself to more thought-provoking conversations, and it makes the things we do more meaningful.
